The Modern Evangelistic method is in trouble. The vast majority of those who hear the message being presented end up falling away. Why? Because the message is no longer based on sin & the need for repentance, but “God’s wonderful plan for your life” & how “God wants to give you a better life”. Now, please understand that I completely agree with both of these statements & messages. I’ve heard many like them & have benefited from these teachings, but this came after I was already saved. See when non-believers hear these kind of messages & this is their motivation for being born again, then when any kind of trouble comes, they will get mad at God & the Christian faith & fall away, & their latter condition is worse than the first. (2 Peter 2:20)
You see they are not moved to Jesus because they are looking for the righteousness that only He can provide, they are looking to Him as their “Holy ATM”, or “Heavenly Genie”. When these messages are preached to the lost unaccompanied with the fact that they are sinful & can never obtain the standard of perfection that God requires, then they just think: “Oh, so if I become a Christian, I’ll have a great life”. It presents wrong motives.
While I have a God-given, unspeakable joy throughout any & all of the circumstances in my life, it is not why I got saved. I came to Christ broken & filthy. I understood that, if I were to be judged by the Law, I was damned, & the only thing that could save me was God’s Grace, by my faith in Christ. More »

Up to 90% of the evangelistic crop is failing. Newly born-again Christians are withering & dying as soon as the the bright sunlight of tribulation, persecution, & temptation shine on them. As much as we try to water them with the word & fertilize them with prayer, support & teachings, without having root, they are still scorched & fall away.
Are we checking the soil before we plant? If we had, we might have seen that these are the “stony ground” hearers Jesus spoke of. These are they that receive the Word with gladness, but after trouble comes, they stumble. (Mark 4:1-20) What can we do, as sincere Christians, who want to share our faith, if the ground of their hearts is hard & stony?
Simple, we must use the plow of the Law to churn & expose the wickedness of sin.
Once they see how futile their own efforts of achieving righteousness are, they will better understand their desperate need for a Savior. When the ground is thoroughly plowed with the Law, & their eyes will be opened to the sin in their lives & we then sow the seeds of Grace. This way, the ground of their hearts have been prepared to receive that seed, & it can take root, stand, & endure.
