Strategy

So far, you’ve come up with your ministry’s purpose, & what it will look like when that purpose is fulfilled, but how do you move from one to the other? How do you see your mission & goals reached, & how will you reach the vision? Strategy.

Strategy is not a simple plan, but a system of actions & tasks that will result in the overall mission being completed. Your strategy is a process. First, you should articulate your mission statement; break it down into separate areas & how you will get to each. Blaze’s Mission statement is: “To Ignite The Urban Culture Towards Full Devotion To Christ”. How do I get there?

Well I’ve got a base strategy listed in points in my Vision Statement. To summarize, we’ll use music as a means to enter into the hearts & minds of the people & sow seed. We’ll create Biblical teachings that are relevant to the culture & urban experience. We’ll initiate effective community outreaches, & we’ll pour our values & training into others so that they can do all these things & multiply as well. You’ve got to vision map.

Take the vision & mission, & break them into goals, then break the goals into tasks. As you complete each task, you will move closer to achieving that goal, as the goals are met, the vision comes closer to fruition. It all seems pretty simple, but the fact of the matter is that the majority of ministries just don’t take the time to do this stuff, & without a vision, the people perish. (Proverbs 29:18) This will take some time, & even when you think you’ve got it, the Lord will show you somethings you missed, but once you have the skeleton put together you’ll be ready to move.
